Meisner
Acting Course
Thursdays
7:00 – 8:30 pm (PT)
Feb. 4 – Mar. 25
Course held on Zoom
Tuition: $200
Meisner defines acting as “Living truthfully under imaginary circumstances”. Learn action and reaction, the pinch and the ouch, and other techniques to connect an actor with the present moment on camera and onstage. This is an acting technique which can thrive in the webcam online environment and while learning and practicing remotely we will be focused on being present and “working off” each other. We will apply the technique to text by the end of the course. This quote by Agnes De Mille is a good sum up of our concentration in the class “Living is a form of not being sure, not knowing what, next or how. The artist never entirely knows. We guess. We may be wrong, but we take leap after leap in the dark.”
This course is taught by Joshua Waterstone.
