Arturo Dirzo (Luke Skywalker) is a local South Bay Actor, thrilled to appear on the Dragon Productions’ stage portraying the life and times of Luke Skywalker this holiday season. Arturo is an avid swashbuckler, lover of holiday cheer, and Star Wars enthusiast eager to kick some galactic empire butt. He has recently appeared in Silicon Valley Shakespeare’s production of The White Snake, Shakespeare in Love at Palo Alto Players, Midsummer Night’s Dream at Foothill, and Christmas at Pemberly at City Lights among others. Past favorite shows include 3 Musketeers, Romeo and Juliet, The Witches Promise, Much Ado About Nothing, Miracle Lake and Plurality of Privacy.

Filip Hofman (Admiral Ackbar and more) is delighted to be back at the Dragon as part of this wacky holiday show! Filip’s interest in acting and the arts began at an early age, and his formal acting education culminated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from CALARTS. He’s been performing all over the world, including Edinburgh, Prague, New York, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area. You may have seen him recently in Never Swim Alone (Dragon Productions) and The Glass Menagerie (Role Players Ensemble), or perhaps remember him as Orlando in As You Like It (Silicon Valley Shakespeare). He has also played Oskar in the TheaterWorks educational tour. In his spare time, he enjoys learning new skills, playing the piano accordion, and reading a good book (he recommends any Terry Pratchett novel).
Jim Johnson (Emperor Palpatine and more) has appeared at the Dragon in Insignificance, Waiting for Godot, Becky’s New Car and others. He has also done lots of stuff at the Pear Theater including Girls Kill Nazis. He was in the last Star Wars Christmas show here and looks forward to embodying evil as the Emperor. Will he slosh black liquid around in his mouth? We’ll see!
Alix Josefski (Han Solo) has been promoted to Captain after playing Chewbacca in last December’s The Making of the Star Wars Holiday Special: Live!, and previously appeared onstage with Dragon Productions as Little Giant/Picnic in Cirque Exotique du Monde. She was most recently seen cheering on the knights of the round table as a Laker Girl in Monty Python’s Spamalot with Woodside Community Theatre, and has also been featured in productions locally at Fuse Theatre and the Pear Theatre. She has been known to lurk in dark tunnels as an immersive theatre performer, including writing and originating the roles of the Cheshire Cat in Wonderland and Tinkerbell in Neverland with Epic Immersive. Alix has extensive training in dance, movement, and the circus arts, with a focus on partner acrobatics, aerial silks, and contortion, and is a graduate of Emerson College in Boston.
Melinda Marks (R2D2/Wedge Antilles/etc.) is a longtime Bay Area actor and director, and the editor and casting director of San Jose-based production company Play on Words. Melinda has worked previously at Dragon Productions as the Stage Manager for Shoggoths on the Veldt, the dialect coach on Equivocation, and most recently as the director of Anne of the Thousand Days. She was last seen onstage in Shakespeare in Love (Palo Alto Players), and in Theatro Visions’ world premiere of Departera.
Jonathan Murphy (Darth Vader/Yoda) is a voice actor whose work whose character voices appear in video games, apps, audiobooks, and the award-winning independent film, National Bird. For 6 years, he was the voice of California’s Great America for their in-park ride and show announcements and the Halloween Haunt. His theater credits include Festival Theatre Ensemble’s productions of As You Like it (Bottom), Hamlet (Horatio), Comedy of Errors (Antipholus of Syracuse), Midsummer Night’s Dream (Bottom), Treasure Island (Dr. Livesey), The Importance of Being Earnest (Algernon), and Charlie’s Aunt (Lord Fancourt Babberly). He’s also performed for the Cardboard Box Theatre Co., Broadway West, Foothill Theatre, and worked with Dragon Theatre on Dorktales, an original “fractured-fairytales” series for kids. Jery Rosas (R2D2/Lando Calrissian/etc.) is crazy excited to be back on the Dragon stage. Bay Area born and performs all over the bay. Past credit include: Che (Evita), Billy (Crazy For You), Leading Player (Pippin), Carl Hanratty (Catch Me If You Can), Judas (Jesus Christ Superstar), Paul (A Chorus Line), and many others. Most recently, directed and choreographed WVLO Musical Theater’s Smokey Joe’s Cafe.

Alika Spencer-Koknar (Princess Leia) has recently stepped into the role of Co-Artistic Director here at the Dragon along with her director and husband, Max Koknar. Her past credits include; Lady Euphonia Riggstone in this season’s Shoggoth’s on the Veldt, Princess Leia in The Star Wars Holiday Special: Live!, Judith in Equivocation, Boshka/Magda Goebbels in Cirque Exotique Du Monde with Dragon Theatre, with Northside Theater Company as Maureen in The Beauty Queen Of Leenane, with City Lights as Johnna Monevata In August: Osage County with City Lights Theater Company and Alice Bloomfield in Kinan Valdez’s production of Zoot Suit with El Theatro Campesino.
