Do you love the performing arts AND working with kids?
We’re looking for you!

Redwood City Youth Theatre, the youth education department of Dragon Theatre, is hosting a variety of Summer Youth Programs, and is seeking qualified teaching artists to round out our staff. Selected teaching artists will work in pairs to teach and oversee our daily youth experiences.

Two types of positions are available:

  1. Support Teaching Artist for 3-Week Theatre Conservatory
The Support Teaching Artist will collaborate with the Lead Teaching Artist to devise lesson plans, instruct workshops, and lead rehearsals for the students participating in the Summer Theatre Conservatory (grades 6-12). These experiences provide students with a variety of theatrical skill-building workshops, in addition to rehearsing and presenting a play to be performed at the end of the session. Support Teaching Artists will coordinate with the Lead Teaching Artist to plan the daily schedule, and are expected to be available for the duration of the experience (8:30am – 4:30pm, M-F; see specific dates needed below). Compensation will be $2400 for each 3-week experience.
  2. Workshop Leader for 1-Week Intro to Arts Camp
This 1-week experience is a camp where students learn a variety of artistic disciplines focused on theatrical arts. Workshop Leaders will provide instruction in various disciplines throughout the week and can direct a single workshop or commit to leading multiple sessions throughout the week. We are seeking Workshop Leaders in the following disciplines: Foley sound design, set design, prop building, dance/movement, costume design, voice for the stage, lighting design, and more. Workshop Leaders will be responsible for devising and delivering an age-appropriate lesson plan in the proposed discipline. Compensation is dependent upon experience and the time commitment agreed upon.
