Dragon’s Den
Created in the summer of 2017 the Dragon’s Den, formerly called the Dragon Late Night Series, was created so that one night a month the Dragon Theatre will be open late on select Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday nights to showcase some up and coming local talents for adults. These shows are typically stand up comedy and musical performances but are open to artists of all kinds. GET TICKETS

Joey McDaniel (Host) was most recently typecast as a drunk and belligerent Santa Claus in A Christmas Story (PAP). Previous credits include Dan Next to Normal (LASC), Hugh Fennyman Shakespeare in Love (PAP), Dennis Dupree Rock of Ages (PAP), Lord Farquaad Shrek (FMT), Patsy Spamalot (PAP); Chef Louis The Little Mermaid (PAP); Barfée Putnam County Spelling Bee (TBA Award nominee) (HB); Amos Chicago (PAP); Uncle Fester The Addams Family (PAP); Igor Young Frankenstein (TBA Award nominee) (PAP); and many more. When not performing, Joey hosts Drunk Broadway, a podcast celebrating cocktails and jazz hands in equal measure. Joey wishes to thank his lovely wife Jen for her eternal support.
Jessica Whittemore is excited to sing and support Dragon in her first-ever cabaret performance! You may have seen her on stage as Ilona (She Loves Me—SBMT), Joy (The Tin Woman— Tabard), Margaret (Silent Sky—CLTC), Ulla (The Producers— Cabrillo Stage), Velma (Chicago—Cabrillo Stage), Amalia (She Loves Me—FMT), or Ilse (Spring Awakening—SCP). Offstage, Jessica teaches yoga and designs courses at the Stanford School of Medicine. She is an environmental science graduate of USC and the University of Michigan, and an alto at heart.
Joey Montes has performed with Woodside Community Theatre, Sunnyvale Community Players, Broadway by the Bay in San Mateo, Hillbarn Theatre in Foster City, Foothill Musical Theatre in Los Altos and Pacifica Spindrift Theatre. He has studied Tap & Jazz with Berle Davis and Jayne Zaban at Dance Arts Center and voice with Mildred Owen of Pacifica. Thanks to my family and friends and especially to Robert for his constant encouragement.
Allie Townsend is a writer, editor and sometimes actress who was last seen onstage as Cherie in Bus Stop (Coastal Repertory Theatre). Other favorite roles include Cinderella in Into the Woods (LASC), Doralee Rhodes in 9 to 5 (FMT), Sherrie Christian in Rock of Ages (Stage 1), and Blanche Barrow in Bonnie and Clyde (Stage 1).
Brian Palac has been performing on Bay Area stage for a little over 10 yeas now. He was last seen playing Paul in a production of Sondheim’s Company (Altarena Playhouse in Alameda) and before that, the title role of The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Tri- Valley Repertory in Livermore). He is also a Theatre Bay Area (TBA) Award recipient for his portrayal of Clopin at another production (HB) of Hunchback. His role credits include the following: Freddy in My Fair Lady, Carmen Ghia in The Producers, Bernardo in West Side Story, Roger in RENT, Cinderella’s Prince in Into The Woods, Luke in Altar Boyz, Jim Conley/Riley in Parade, Mitch Mahoney in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Engineer and Thuy in Miss Saigon, Enjolras in Les Miserables, Freddy in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar, Luntha in The King and I, Che in Evita, Balladeer in Assassins, Stacee Jaxx in Rock of Ages, and Malcolm in The Full Monty. Brian has an Engineering degree and currently works as an accessibility consultant. He loves to travel, cleaning, doing laundry and washing dishes on his spare time.
Alicia Teeter is pleased to be making her debut at Dragon Productions Theatre Company. Recent local performances include Will Rogers Follies (Betty Blake) at WVLO, My Fair Lady (Eliza) at Woodside Community Theatre, The Last 5 Years (Cathy) at Limelight Actors Theatre, The Bridges of Madison County (Francesca) at SBMT, and The Music Man (Marian Paroo) at Lyric Theatre. Other favorite roles include A Little Night Music (Countess Charlotte) and Chicago (Roxie Hart) at HB; Curtains (Georgia), Spelling Bee (Olive), Pippin (Catherine), and Urinetown (Hope) at FMT; Parade (Lucille Frank) at Palo Alto Players. Alicia has performed as a soloist for the Las Vegas Master Singers and the Las Vegas Philharmonic.
Bob Sunshine loves to play the piano and is excited to accompany such a wonderful group of singers for this event. He plays for theater companies all over the bay area and has even been persuaded to act as music director from time to time. He started playing piano at the age of five, around the time he saw his first Broadway musical. He spends his days developing software as a Silicon Valley techie. But most evenings he can be found at a different kind of keyboard, accompanying, rehearsing, performing, or just jamming. Next up for him are THE FABULOUS 40’s at South Bay Musical Theater in May, and SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM at Pear Theater in June
