June 4th Performer Biographies

Anna Yanushkevich / Cirque de la Luna

Anna Yanushkevich has been filling community theatres and performing at large events for the better part of a decade. Combining ballet, aerial, contortion and visual arts, Anna asks her audience to seek where they sit in their seat on the spectrum between the strange beauty in nature and the macabre. In 2015 the San Diego Fringe Festival designated a special category for Anna, presenting her with the “Twisted Fringe Award” for Nocturnicon, a dive into the way we handle mental illness and the human body before and after death. In addition, Anna is in school for pre med and works as a veterinary technician. She also teaches beginner to advanced aerial arts and movement and is committed to helping the world stay strong, healthy and bendy. Follow Anna at instagram.com/santa_sangre.

Tony Gapastione & BraveMaker 

Tony Gapastione is the founder and executive director of BraveMaker a Redwood City nonprofit organization devoted to elevating brave stories through film for justice, diversity and inclusion. BraveMaker curates and makes provocative, life changing media that creates meaningful culture impacting experiences. They not only want to entertain but to incite dialogue, awareness and bravely shape our culture. Dana Soliman

Dana Soliman is a singer, actress, and model in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a singer, Dana is classically trained, sang in multiple bands, and was an opening act for various artists, including “The Voice” Season 1 winner, Javier Colon. Dana discovered a love for acting when she performed with an ensemble of talented women in The Vagina Monologues. She was Taft-Hartleyed for playing Nikki in an LGBT web series, Give Me Grace. Passionate and driven, she continues to challenge herself in all art forms and strives to collaborate with artists to create meaningful work. www.danasoliman.com

 

 

Alix Josefski

Alix participated in several online works with Dragon Productions during 2020 including roles as a writer and performer with the Dipsy Doodle Dragons sketch comedy team and digital poetry project AJ’s Virtual Party. Alix last appeared onstage at Dragon Productions as Han Solo in One Hour Star Wars Trilogy: Live!, where she was previously featured in The Making of the Star Wars Holiday Special: Live! and Cirque Exotique du Monde. She has also performed locally with Woodside Community Theatre, Fuse Theatre, the Pear Theatre, and Epic Immersive. Filip Hofman, Video Editing

Filip Hofman is an actor, writer, and creator who has been working in theater and the performing arts for over a decade. Filip has performed all over the world, including Edinburgh, Prague, New York, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area. In the Bay Area, Filip’s worked with TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, Dragon Productions Theatre Company, Silicon Valley Shakespeare, Pear Theater, Los Altos Stage Company, Epic Immersive, and Role Players Ensemble. Sedric Drake

Sedric Drake is a stand-up comic from Menlo Park. With a mission of Initiating laughter and love to the masses to help heal our world, Sedric takes the art of comedy and its power to build and empower communities seriously. Over a career in comedy which started with a dare by a girlfriend who is now his wife, Sedric has become a comics’ comic and a beloved member of the stand-up community. Until they were disrupted by the pandemic, Sedric was the host and producer of regular comedy shows at the Dragon with line ups featuring some of the best in the stand-up comedy world from the Bay Area and beyond. Sedric’s performances are recommended for those ages 13+.

Paul Costello, Triva Host

Paul Costello is a Bay Area actor.  Most recently, he appeared in two productions in the Pear Theater’s One Act Festival: Naked Are The Mole Rats and Girl/Lost Found. In February 2021, Costello was featured in two new short plays, Lover From Another Planet and Pass the Pain Please within the series, Love in the Time of COVID with the St. Peter’s Players in Redwood City. Since 2014, he has been featured in a number of productions with the Bay Area Drama Company (BAD).  Costello is a board member at the Dragon.

 

 

 

Bora “Max” Koknar, Master of Ceremonies

(he/him) is a Turkish-born actor, director, writer, educator, producer and the Co-Artistic Director of the Dragon. In his professional career of 15+ years, Max has entertained over 500,000 people as a performer; produced a touring program serving over 100,000 children a year across the west coast; founded an education program designed to increase language fluency and communication skills of 100s of at risk youth in partnership with local elementary schools and the Ohio State University;  created site specific and immersive experiences entertaining 1000s of people in partnership with venues including the SF MOMA, Fort Mason, and San Jose Japan Town with Epic Immersive; and collaborated with international tech giants such as Google, Apple,Facebook, Box, Intuit, Genentech, and Paradox Interactive as director, performer, executive coach, training facilitator and experience designer. Sinjin Jones

Sinjin Jones is a multimedia jack of all trades. He loves experimenting with and practicing directing, choreography, creative writing, slam poetry, painting, lighting design, and sound design (to name a few). His passion for the arts led him to found the Otherworld Collective in Colorado as a way to experiment with storytelling through different media, and to serve as Artistic Director and Board Vice President of A Theatre Group in Silverton, Colorado. In 2019, Sinjin moved from Colorado to the Bay Area and is currently the Artistic Director at Pear Theatre in Mountain View, California where he has used his skills and innovative spirit to keep Pear Theatre running during the global pandemic. Sinjin is a believer that stories are fundamental to our communication as human beings and that in our new era of storytelling, the story itself will fundamentally decide the medium.
