Improv For Anyone!

Our very popular Saturday morning Improv Class is back. This class welcomes everyone: those new to Improv, seasoned improvisers, actors who want to try this genre of theaterand all those in between who just want to have fun. Games are designed for everyone's enjoyment and growth.  Many techies, doctors, lawyers, couples, and homemakers find this class refreshing and fun and a way to unleash their creative talents and become more open and communicative.

 
Come give improv a try Saturday mornings at the Dragon Theatre. The classes begin Saturday, February 11th at 10am and run weekly for 6 weeks. 
 
This round of classes is taught by Corinne Kason, a professional actress who has worked in New York, Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area. She taught Improv for the Screen Actors Guild Conservatory in L.A. and S.F. and is currently teaching Improv at the San Carlos Charter Learning School.
 
WHEN: Saturday mornings from 10a - noon beginning Saturday, Feb. 11th.
 
WHERE: The Dragon Theatre in downtown Redwood City (2120 Broadway Street) 
 
WHO: anyone aged 18 and up! There's a minimum requirement of 8 people for the class to be a "go." A maximum of 16 students accepted so register early to make sure you get a spot in this popular class! Registration closes at 5pm on Friday, Feb. 10th.
 
HOW MUCH: $200 for the entire 6 weeks (about $33 a session) with an early bird discount of $175 if you register before Jan 30th.

Beginning Improv - SOLD OUT! 

Workshop Leader: Terry Sandke

The next Beginning Improv Class runs Wednesday evenings from February 8 through March 22. No experience required. Shy people are especially welcome!

Anyone can learn to improvise - it just takes practice. Basic improv skills can make you more comfortable in your own skin and increase your self-confidence. Work with a small group in a safe atmosphere that emphasizes PLAY. Surprise yourself by creating characters, stories, and scenes on the fly! Play with fun people who love to laugh! Learn basic skills all improvisers know.

Tuesday evening classes are taught by Terry Sandke, who has been teaching Improv at Dragon Productions since 2007. He is a founding member of the San Francisco Improv troupe, "Spontaneous Combustion" and has been improvising for 20 years - eleven with the BATS Improv Sunday Players in San Francisco.
 

HOW MUCH: $315 for the entire 7 weeks ($45 a session) with an early bird price of $280 if you register before February 2, 2017.Registration closes at 5pm on Tuesday, February 7.

For Youth

 

Spring Break Improv Camp at Dragon

A half-day morning camp which takes place during spring break week, resulting in an opportunity for the students to showcase their newly developed skills and talents in a student improv show for family and friends on the last day. Throughout the week our professional teaching artists will guide the students in learning and practicing many short-form improv games geared towards developing listening skills, team-work and quick thinking. The process of learning basic improvisational skills will teach the students to say yes, and to each other in scenes in order to build on one another's ideas.

HOW MUCH: $250 for one week with an early bird price of $200 if you register before February 2.

WHEN: Two 5-day long sessions available. Monday through Friday (8:30am - 12:00pm) during the week of April 3-7 or April 10-14 with a short presentation for family and friends on Friday April 7 and April 14.

WHO: Children Ages 8 and Up! There’s a minimum requirement of 6 people for the class to be a ‘go.' A maximum of 20 students accepted. Register early to guarantee a spot!
