Move, sing, and tell stories with our bodies and voices in this fun bonding experience! Each week we will repeat songs and movements while the little ones learn the “lyrics and choreography” and engage in dramatized interactive storytelling! While this is an in-person class, families are welcome to join virtually as well!

Little Dragons

This program will provide a supportive and fun environment for students, roughly ages 3 to 5, to play, explore, and grow. We will use play-based activities to create characters, act out stories, move in new ways, and let our imaginations soar!

Storytelling & Play

Grades K – 2

This program will help build confidence and self esteem as we explore creating characters and telling stories using our voices and bodies as an ensemble.

This course will culminate in a showcase in tandem with the other classes on Saturday, December 17. Register through December, or just join us for individual classes!

 

Creative Play

Grades 3 – 5

July 16 – December 10

Saturdays, 3 – 4 pm (PT)

 

Build self-confidence and self-esteem while exploring your creative side in this program! Students will have fun engaging in theatre activities focusing on character building. This course will culminate in a showcase in tandem with the other classes on Saturday, December 17.

Musical Theatre Course

Grades 6 – 12

Saturdays, 4:15 – 5:45 pm (PT)

 

Become the triple threat you were born to be! In this program, students will receive tailored instruction to strengthen vocal support & technique, style & dynamics, and vocal performance!

Participants that enroll in every session will learn the history of American Musical Theatre and will rehearse a solo piece, a duet, and be involved in a group number! This course will culminate in a showcase in tandem with the Acting & Scene Study students on the evening of Saturday, December 17.

Students will need to prepare a song of their choice for their first class (please contact classes@dragonproductions.net if you need assistance). Students will also be guided through positive and constructive feedback so every student is engaged throughout the course, even if it is not their turn to sing.

Acting & Scene Study

Grades 6 – 12

July 16 – December 10

Saturdays, 6 – 7:30 pm (PT)

 

Students will receive tailored instruction to develop listening & reacting skills and create three-dimensional characters through script analysis.

Participants that enroll in every session will be exposed to different methods of acting while working on diverse characters in monologues and scenes from both comedic and dramatic works. This course will culminate in a showcase in tandem with the Musical Theatre students on the evening of Saturday, December 17.

  1. When looking at your camp on vbo, set your quantity for the camp you wish to enroll your child in and click “Order Now” when you are ready.

2. Once you click “Order Now”, you will be taken to this page.

Click on “Tickets” in the top left corner if you would like to purchase admission for another camp.

3. If you selected “Tickets”, you will be taken to this page where you can choose another camp. 

4. Pick your session and set your quantity for any other camps you wish to enroll your child in. Click “Order Now” when you are ready to repeat steps 1 and 2 with your other program selection.

6. Once all your items are in your cart, you can enter a Promo Code here and then click “Continue As Guest” or create your own account to move on to the next step. .

8. Then, you can enter your billing information.

9. On the last page, you can enter your credit card information and order your sessions!

Dragon Teaching Artists have a variety of theatrical works to choose from at the open of every program to ensure that every student can perform a piece they’re proud of. All programs with a showcase will vary their performance selections between sessions depending on the students strengths and interests.

To date, Dragon has never had to turn away a scholarship request. It’s important to us that every person have access to theatre education. We’re incredibly grateful to our supporters for making this possible.

Dragon Youth Theatre will provide all the creative materials your child needs! Make sure to send your child to their program with a mask (please see individual program Covid & mask policies sent a week prior to the start date), a water bottle, and enough food for the length of time your child will be with Dragon.
