Improvisation is play.  Improvisation is fun.  Improvisation is a skill that anyone can learn.

Improvisational theatre skills - trusting your spontaneous reactions, trusting your partner, and trusting agreement to move things forward

- can have a positive impact on your life: at home, at work, and in your relationships.  And you don't have to be an actor or comedian to develop those skills.  Why?  Because you improvise every day, and have been doing so since the day you were born.

Using improvisational theater exercises with a small group in a safe, friendly, and fun atmosphere, this workshop will help you trust your own ability to think, speak, and act spontaneously.  You will play short improv games and experiment with creating characters and scenes, all as a fun way to develop a more nimble and responsive engagement with your life.

As one student said, "You can learn new ways to 'play' at any age.  I did when I was sixty years old!  And I met such fun people while I learned."

Come and join the fun.  Newcomers and experienced improvisers welcome.

*With two-hour sessions fitting the schedules of working adults, smaller classes taught by active Improv performers, and lower prices, Dragon Productions' workshops are the best Improv class value on the Peninsula and in the South Bay.

The workshop is aimed at people that have completed a Beginning Improv class.

While the emphasis is still on fun, the class will explore more conceptual and technical information. It will introduce you to some of the skills needed to perform improvisational theatre in front of an audience. Concepts include teamwork, status, character, relationships, motivations, genre, locations, narrative, and scene structure.

*Students will leave the class understanding the basics of improvising two and three character narrative scenes. *
